Where Recast fits
Recast’s advantage is a small, direct workflow for the formats it supports. You can inspect a GeoTIFF, convert a zipped Shapefile to GeoJSON, or move vector data into GeoPackage without transmitting the file contents to a conversion service. There is no account to create.
Recast’s tradeoffs
You rely on the visitor’s CPU, RAM, and browser limits. Our acceptance limits are not guarantees that every file will convert. Recast has no CAD support, no KML or Shapefile export, no conversion API, and no general target-CRS control. The initial conversion-engine download is substantial.
